1er album de la légende suédoise BATHORY mené par l'incontournable et enigmatique Quorthon, seul maître à bord.
Ce premier album éponyme sort en 1984 et pose les bases du Black Metal. Dès l'intro, c'est l'enfer sur terre, puis les hymnes démoniaques s'enchainent "Hades" "Reaper" "Sacrifice" "Raise the dead"...Une production ténébreuse, abyssale, des vocaux d'écorché vif...On sent tout de même quelques influences venomesques et motörheadiennes sur certains riffs.
Dès cet album, BATHORY devient LE créateur légitime du Black Metal. Et le meilleur reste à venir... Etienne - 08.07.2003
