Hello guys and I first wish to thank you for your availability to answer our questions!

Thank you very much for having us!

First of all, your first album is out now. How does it feel? Are you satisfied with the result? Is it exactly the way you wanted to sound?

Erik HEIKNE : The album is actually not released yet. 'Heart of Midwinter' will be out on November 1st in Scandinavia and presumably a little bit later in the rest of the European region.

To answer your question, when you're about doing an album, you always have a vision of how it will turn out, but since the process is so long, the result will always turn out a little bit different I think.
I am very satisfied with the result. I think 'Heart of Midwinter'is a strong album with songs that can appeal to both lovers of AOR music and those who like heavier stuff.
We had a very strong vision of how the production should sound and it took us almost 8 months to go there, but the result turned out real good so it was all worth it!

Can you tell us how it has been perceived in general?

Erik : The album hasn't been released yet, but the reviews and comments we've received so far has been totally amazing I think !

The quality of the production is amazingly good compared to what is generally done for first albums. How did you succeed in this?

Erik : Thank you very much, we appreciate ! The production of the album took us 8 months, which is very much, compared to what you usually spend on recording an album, and I think that plays an essential part in the result of the production. We also worked with amazing peoples in the mixing and mastering processes.

Henrik SPROGE : There are so many good bands playing great music today so it's not the easiest thing to stand out and make a difference. We really wanted to create a high quality sound that would get peoples attention.

Coming to your music, the inspiration is directly taken from the mid eighties roar. Though, your sound is modern, mainly due to the presence of keyboards that give a progressive touch. Was this alchemy the result of hard work or did it came naturally to you? And tell us about your influences (Bands etc ...) ?

Erik :
Since mainly Henrik and me wrote the music to the whole album, our influences played an important part. We have a lot in common when it comes to what you think is most important things when writing songs. The melodies and arrangements must always be the essential part. You could do an amazing solo or a complicated drum beat, but that does not automatically make it a good song.

That is one thing I like with the 80's hard rock in general and I think that is the most important learning we have got from those bands. I think bands like Magnum, Europe and Journey has meant a lot to us in shaping the Miss Behaviour sound.

Can you tell us a little more about the title of the album (Heart Of Midwinter)?

Erik : Most of the songs on the album has lyrics and songs that is quite emotional. That along with our 'northern mentality' concludes quite well in 'Heart of Midwinter'.

Henrik : We also use 'midwinter' as a metaphor to describe our society. The heart of midwinter tells the story of the people up here in the cold.

Some bands require years to finally issue an album but for you it seems that you do not need so long. Is it due to the fact that you are in an continuous creative flow or that you had just material enough to fill a record?

Erik : I think we have an ability to focus on the right objectives in our creativity. We took the decision to produce the album ourselves and got started working at right away. We didn't have anyone to tell us what to do and when to do it. We just did what we felt like doing, we were just like 5 Forrest Gump´s.

Do you plan to tour to promote your album, and shall we be lucky enough to see you in France?

Henrik : We're looking at all possibilities at the moment but nothing is settled yet. Touring and performing live is a very important part of promoting an album, and it's a fantastic feeling to perform in front of a crowd. Playing live in France would really be a dream come true!!

In a more general way, what do you think about nowadays hard rock revival? From my point of view, it seems that Scandinavia, mainly Sweden and Finland, is heading this wave. Are there any specificities or facilities in the northern countries that makes it possible?

Erik : The hard rock music and its very devoted fans has always been there, I think the revival comes more to an increased acceptance for this kind of music in media and press. I have never been a fan of the 90's hard rock and grunge so for me it feels great that the melodic hard rock stand tall again and it's amazing to be a part of it.

What would you suggest to new bands that want to enter the arena of music business? Come to Sweden ?

Erik : No, I would not give them that advice. I don't think it's easier in Sweden that in any other European country. The only thing that matters is hard work, a clear vision of what you want to accomplish and a bit luck on the way.

Websites dedicated to hard rock and heavy metal (like HardRock80.com) are flourishing. Is the Internet to play a big role for young bands like MISS BEHAVIOUR in promoting their music?

Erik : When it comes to doing interviews and having your album reviewed it's an amazing opportunity I think! The Internet has become an important key to promote a band and it's music. The only bad thing about the Internet is the illegal downloading and that is a huge problem for musicians. There's nothing wrong with digital music as long as peoples pay for it.

And, finally, what would you say to our HR80 readers ?

First of all we wanna thank you for showing interest in Miss Behaviour and our new album! Check out the official homepage http://www.missbehaviour.se for info about the European release date. We hope that the album will sell good so that we can se you on tour in France in the near future! Thanx again and cheers!

All the best
